John Frisbee and Ruth Bowers

My 9x Great Grandparents, John Frisbee and Ruth Bowers lived in Branford, CT. John was born 17 July 1650 in Branford to Edward Frisbee and Hannah Culpepper. Ruth was baptized 20 Dec 1657 in New Haven to Rev John Bowers and Rebecca Gregson.

John and Ruth were married 2 Dec 1674 in Branford. They had 9 children: John 1676, Edward 1677, Rebecca 1679, Nathaniel 1680, Hannah 1681, Samuel 1683, Ruth 1685, Joseph 1688, and Lydia 1692.

John was a prominent man in Branford. In 1667, he was a signer of the New Plantation and Church Covenant of Branford. In 1687 he was on of the seven pillars of the church. He was a surveyor of land and highways. He was chosen to be a representative to the General Court in 1690 and 1692. He died in 1694 leaving an estate of 305 pounds and 10 schillings.

Ruth was admitted to the church 7 March 1687. She was remarried in 1704 to William Hoadley. This was his 3rd marriage. He died in 1709 and left a will but was rejected by probate court. The heirs fought over the estate and Ruth did receive some of it.

Ruth died 26 April 1736 in Branford. I have not found where either John or Ruth are buried.
