My 8x Great Grandparents, Edward Frisbee and Martha Pardee lived in Branford, CT. Edward was born 24 Jan 1677 in Branford to John Frisbee and Ruth Bowers. Martha was born 18 Mar 1681 in Branford to George Pardee and Mercy Ball.
Edward and Martha married 30 Dec 1702 in Branford, CT. They had 7 children: Thankful 1704, Edward 1705, Thankful 1708, Martha 1710, Gideon 1713, Ruth 1716, and Appelino 1721.
Not much more has been found about this couple. Martha joined the church in 1704. She died 15 Sep 1749. Edward died 1741. They are both buried in Branford Center Cemetery. Their tombstones still stand. Edward’s has a skull and angel with a crown of rightousness. Also, along the side is a fleur de lis. This is interesting as it can symbolize French origin. I have seen in some Frisbie family history sites that the family origins are French Huguenots. I need to keep digging on that claim but this is potentially a clue.
Martha’s stone is sunken but some of the writing is visible. Both are Brownstones which was common for that time period in Connecticut.
