Samuel Beers and Sarah Sherman

My 7x Great Grandparents, Samuel Beers and Sarah Sherman lived in Stratford and Newtown, CT. Samuel Beers was born 9 November 1679 in Stratford to John Beers and Mary. Sarah Sherman was born 16 December 1681 in Stratford to Samuel Sherman Jr and Mary Titherton.

Samuel and Sarah married 16 January 1706/7 in Stratford, CT. They had 9 children: Mary 1708, John 1710,Samuel 1712, Daniel 1714, Abraham 1716, Nathan 1718, Sarah, 1720, Hannah, 1722, and Abigail 1724.

Indications are that Samuel was a farmer and the family settled in Newtown, CT. Though they received 50 acres from Sarah’s father in 1712. That land was in Stratford.

Samuel died 12 March 1725 intestate. Sarah settled the estate on 2 January 1727.

Sarah raised her children ages 16- infant without remarrying. In 1739, she is found in the records for taxes. See below:

Sarah died sometime before 8 May 1750 when her nine children agreed to a division of the land of their deceased mother.

I don’t know where Samuel or Sarah are buried.
